Upcoming changes to the forums

After some consideration the club committee has decided to make the following changes to the forums:

  • Access to the 'Club Business' section will be restriced to current financial members of the club.

    The 'Club Activity Nights' forum will be moved into the 'Saltwater Fly Fishing' section, which will remain available to everyone (non members/general public).

    A new 'Members Trip Reports' forum will be added in the 'Club Business Section'

The main reasoning behind these changes is to provide a benefit to paid up members of the club, and an extra incentive for prospective members to join. Members fees pay for the annual running costs of the forums.

The plan to trial the new structure for 12 months.

I plan to implement the changes this Saturday (May 11). There is likely to be some disruption/outages of the site while this is happening. I will post again in this forum when the changes are complete.

The changes described in my earlier post have now been made.

So, to access the Club Member forums you now must be a current financial member of the club.

I have gone throught the current membership list and have attempted to give access to the members who already have a forum account.

If you are a current member, already have a forum account and are having trouble accessing the member forums please send me a PM and I will try and sort it out.

I will put up a separate post describing the process if you are a club member and want to create a new forum account.
