Very nice, thought it might be. I've enjoyed a few trips on Galeforc boats, nice ride.

For those who do not understand North Queensland "I could not get the fly in front of the salmon so I took out the spin stick"peter birch wrote:D yes they were at mewstones,so where all the muttonheads throwing stick baits. Re: Salmon
Reasonable day Wednesday at Mewstone. Plenty of fish...but about 10 boats. Seemed to be multiple schools ranging from reasonable small pods (say 10m diameter) to bigger schools (say 40m diameter). Saw a couple of schools hit bait fish on the surface - quite specy! Some schools climbed all over the flies, some were a bit tentative - probably dependent on how long since they were hit by the other boats.
Fishing got a bit painful at times ... when we found a school and hooked up (mostly double and triple), we were swamped by other boats soon after. The trick was to go a few hundred meters away to find an isolated school, get a couple of fish before it either moved on...or other boats put them down.
Each time (4 times I think) we thought it was all too hard and headed for Stragglers, we just got the boat on the plane only to spot another school.
We did finally have a brief look at Stragglers (seaward side only) and didn't spot anything. Because it was such good weather we had a look at West End (I know...leaving fish to find fish....) and had say 30 minutes look in the usual spots...nothing. But at least it 'proves' to me I don't want to launch from Hillarys to go to West End.
I wish people luck on the weekend fighting the mobs of D#$kheads that will undoubtedly be out there. Too hard for me!
