Did better than Phil & I- fished everywhere from Grant st Reef to Cockburn powerboat rock groyne.

Nothing but a smallish flathead for Phil. Even burleyed the cr*p out of some of the spots.

Did see a school of Salmon along the beach between Ammo Jetty & Coogee Beach though.

Did better than me too. Fished from Port Kennedy to a couple of different areas in Woddies. Caught nothing and to add insult to injury bait fishermen landed two salmon in front of me! Cant believe I couldnt even pick up a herring  Think I need a boat! lol

Yeah, it was a good days fishing Pete..Thanks for the ride ! I'm not much of a morning person, but the 5-30 am start freezing conditions woke me up pretty quickly. Started with a bit of berlying and a bait session ( gasp ) just off Freo until the sun came up and was rewarded with a small, but legal pinky and a few undersize. Pete caught a few skippy on the fly before we headed off to stragglers for a serious berlying session. Unfortunately not a thing showed up so we headed to join the throng at mewstones with around 20 boats doing the "circuit" over a huge school of Salmon which very politely decided to stay in exactly the same spot until we left mid afternoon .Very entertaining and i would highly recommend Silicone Wool headed flies , they have an awesome action on a fast sinking line and work as a surface slider on a floating or intermediate line. Very cool fly !
