We will meetup at 7:30am at the car park near the boat ramp. The "weigh-in" will be at 4:00pm also at the car park near the boat ramp
Challenges will be:
* Largest Bream
* Largest Tailor
* Largest Salmon
* Try and catch a fish on a Baited Breath fly (http://www.illawarraflyfishers.com.au/f ... breath.htm). Any colour combinations and hook sizes allowed.
* Any other species over 20cm.
It is a great day out. They do make a awesome burger at the local Cafe. The boat ramp is in pretty good nick. If you have never caught a Bream on fly before this is the place to do it!!

Re: Moore River - June 2015 Field day
I havnt been here before. What weight rod should I bring 8 or 10? What depth of water is it and is it fast flowing? I take it small flies will be better? I take it its mainly small fish were after so 6lb line or something?

The weather forecast for Sunday looks good. If you have a 4-6 weight, that would probably be more suitable of the estuary. Floating lines should be fine. If you feel you need to get a little deeper, a sink tip or intermediate is handy.
If you intend to fish the beach, then maybe the 8wt.
6lb leader for the estuary, small charlies, gotcha, bms, clousers.

Just confirmed that the river mouth is still closed.
So water levels will be a bit high but it will make for better fishing conditions.
See you guys there Sunday morning
Gear I'm bringing along:
-5 and 6 weight rod
-floating and intermediate lines
-clousers (yellow, white, brown)
-charlies (yellow, copper, brown, tan)
-poppers and gurglers (for the herring, tailor and juvenile salmon)
-baited breath (brown, tan, white)
-deceivers (white, yellow, olive, chartreuse)
-bread flies for the mullets
-whiting poppers
