Got to say it again, that brief session with Tony last sunday has really paid off.
Before I could do about 20 minutes of park casting before the arm was going to fall off. Loops were horrible, had overhand knots all through the leader and often things ended up messy on the final delivery.
This arvo after being in the park once this last week and in the back yard with 10ft of line out of the tip just watching loops back and forth and keeping things in tight and not using excessive force, I lost track of time how long I was casting for. Ended up being an hour.
ZERO knots in the leader, everything in control, tighter loops and consistant easy delivery. 30ft- no probs, 40, easy, 50 yep and consistantly hit 60 fairly easy. Even bombed out 80 a few times. Amazing what looking over the shoulder and watching the back cast and loops and feeling the tug on the rod when the line has laid out and is starting to load the rod- then the forward stroke, a small haul and watch it fly...
Proof in the pudding that practice really does make perfect (well much better anyway!)

Re: Casting
Good work Brad, I think Tony has accounted for a fair majority of peoples casting improvements.. I have been lucky enough to spend some time with tony over the last couple of years, particularly at the Peter Morse casting days to find myself very happy with my casting stroke. I was doing a bit of practice myself today
