It was a wonderful day weather wise, very light winds, smooth seas and a clear sky. conditions could not have been better. Unfortunately we (Simon, Dave Clark and myself) could not find any Salmon around Rotto. We tried really hard at all the usual places completely circumnavigating the island. We even trolled some lures around trying for anything. Early afternoon we popped into Dome in Thomson bay for a coffee and a think. From there we headed to the natural jetty. There were lots of baitfish in that area. There were some big Shark Mackerel busting up about the place. Got a few hook-ups but landed nothing. Still thanks to Simon we had a good day out on the water.
If your looking for Salmon this weekend it would probably be worth looking further south.

Dave Clarke's my brother! :P

Lots of dolphins and seals on the water, but the only action we really got was a few tosses to the shark macks that Rog mentioned. Had a few fish trailing the flies, but no commitments. :(

Still, it was a gorgeous day on the water. Loved it!
Our tradition is that of the first man who sneaked away to the creek when the tribe did not really need fish.
