Looking for crew

Post by Simon Gilbert » Wed Apr 09, 2014 1:01 pm

I'm looking for crew for Friday.

Salmon have been confirmed to be in Perth so I'm off to Rottnest (haven't heard report from there yet - but it's a good bet). So Salmon are the primary target (but I'll chuck a fly at anything that swims).

A weekday is better to miss what can be horribly big crowds on the weekend that can cause the fish to 'sound' or at least be more difficlt to tempt.

Prefer (but not essential) someone that can meet me at my place in Stirling to help hitch the boat. Roger Smith will be meeting us at the Leeuwin ramp. Don't know the time yet - but considering the forcast at the moment it won't be really early (but I still need to miss the peak hour office workers).

Could be a long day since the wind in the arvo is looking to be really light - but I've got to be home arround 6pm.

Don't have to be experienced (if fact prefer people that don't have much - makes me look better). But must be prepared to scrub the decks if a drop of blood gets on them  (I'll supply the brushes) For those that don't know me (reputation) - thats a joke!

PM me if you are interested.

PS - Is anyone else likely to go in their own boat (so we can cover more ground in the search)?

I've sent you a PM Simon.

(Initially said "if you can't find someone", but now I believe I definitely NEED to catch a salmon or two on the fly rod!!!)

Cheers,

I sent you a PM as well!

Might skip out on my mate's bottom bouncing plans in favour of a day chasing salmon on fly.
Our tradition is that of the first man who sneaked away to the creek when the tribe did not really need fish.

Dang would have been down for another trip out in your tub Simon but its looking pretty full now.
Keep me patched if you're going for another look round.

Can't believe its been 4 years since my last salmon!
