Albert, Tony and Steve it was great to catch up and see you break some rods.
What was the material you used in those FPFs that Troy gave away with gusto to the Gs?
I'll need to tie some up for my next trip...

Flashy Profile Flies
Re: Flashy Profile Flies
Hi Adam
Many thanks for letting us self invite ourselves along. Hope TC Narelle didn't screw too much with your plans. It's always great fishing down the bottom of the gulf. Even better is not having the travel to get there from Exmouth.
Steve doesn't do forums, and Albert gets on here occassionally. I think the flies that Albert gave you were a mix of feathers and unique hair. Streamer/super hair looks the same as unique, but is stiffer. Ok to use this as well. Also possible to use slinky/kinky/Steve Farrar Blend fibres. Just depends on the look you're after. I'll check with the boys and get back to you about exactly what materials they used.

Re: Flashy Profile Flies
The ones Albert donated to the cause were all synthetic, I think unique hair as well.
Maybe I should just commission Albert. But we're would the fun in that be....
Troy has been concocting mussel flies as quick as he can google.
TC Narelle finished the trip a day and a half early unfortunately. However we did get another great day in after you left with heaps of stuff on the various bommies and shallow stuff. I still have some unfinished business on the flats...
Cooper was influenced by the dark side and on his return he said to his mum he wants a fly rod, reel and some flies for his B'day....
The return trip is looking like it will be the weekend after boneheads... You may have to arrange for Steve to walk to the wedding....
I'll let you know the dates when I've looked at the tides more.

Re: Flashy Profile Flies
The fly is a copy of Jon Makim's FPF. It's listed on Flyworld.
Let us know when Cooper is ready to make the move. Happy to donate some flies to the cause.
We're planning to do something the week before boneheads. No set plans yet.

Re: Flashy Profile Flies
Tony thanks for the information, Jon is a great tier. It was his ultimate shrimp I got the take on for the flats grubbers...
