Well they probably fish every day in Goa- but for me I have the day off & might be heading down rocko way to fish the Penguin Island sandbank.

If anyone has any better suggestions or wants to tag along- hit me up.

I'll be heading out early so as to bamboozle the wife & kids. (They think I'll be at work!)

Few hezzas & that's was it really. Was trying most of the time for a big blue spot but the big fly didn't allow for much bycatch

Blue spot? The new name for the Bar Tail flattie right? Almost had a heart attack as I though you meant Tusk Fish.......

Yeah looks like a good spot for flatties.....Possible GH territory in summer as well?

Bluespot are the oceanic flathead that hang out on sand & can get pretty huge. The sand bar has a rep for producing some beauties.

I find they are more active when the temp is right up. Spoke with a local & he confirmed I was concentrating on the better areas where he's caught some big girls himself. I've not landed any myself yet (the odd small one) but have had a couple take off & wear through the leader.

Quite a few anglers up the bank yesterday- probably about 7 peeps including myself shuffled through. Phil came down late for a walk halfway to the channel & nailed a couple of hezzas- twas a bit disappointing for the distance travelled but that's fishing eh?

Ok so they get big...like Duskie big?

I grew up on the south east coast chasing big Duskies in the estuaries. Caught the odd just sub meter biggie...saw a few imprints that may have gone just over

Always had a soft spot for lizards.

Apparently they get near as big as a Dusky but I doubt that I'd ever see one that large.

Mate of mine has gotten a couple of bigguns there hocking meat so reckon on fly is a decent chance.
