Finally!!!! A Giant Herring under the belt ….

After many months of chasing these buggers in the Swan, I've finally landed one!
Then I landed my second one soon after. Two hook-ups for two landed fish.
I've hooked maybe thirty fish since November, most of which have dropped off within a couple of seconds. One came close to being landed, but a clump of weed spoiled the party that time. The change that made the difference tonight was making my flies on larger hooks and making them as light as possible (light weight, not colour).
Many thanks to Dan who tagged along for his first attempt at chasing them. He gave moral support during the fights and unclipped my net from the backpack for me. He was also the photographer on call.
So fckn happy!!!!
