Hooks?

I'm running low on hooks and I was wondering: Which hooks do you use most for tying flies for local use?
When I moved over to WA, I brought along bulk packs of Gama SL12 hooks, mostly 1/0 and 2/0. I've found that these are a bit big for most of the species(read juvenile) I target in Mandurah.
I want to use size 4, 6 & 8 for shrimp patterns, charlies and candies. Which hooks would you recommend and where can I get the best deal?

I usually use the Gamakatsu SL12s (they go down to a 2). Recently when at Bluewater, Rohan recommended some Tiemco 800S hooks for smaller flies (I wanted to tie some Milkfish flies and smaller Charlies etc. before Boneheads).

I use Mustard S74S SS for my bream flies. This is a streamer hook in size 4 with a longer shank. I find a longer shank works better on flies and reduces the tail nipping by bream.

Hi Rudolph
Lots of choices.
Have a look at the Mustad Big Game Light. Great hook and good value for money. Gama B10S also worth looking at. Flyworld has a great range of tying gear, and Bluewater Melville holds a reasonable range as well.

Gamakatsy o'shaunessy in sizes 6 and 8 are awesome and i know where there are some cheap ones, the new z steel signature series s70ss are very nice, tied some on those last night, big game light in the smaller sizes and Tiemco 811s are very sharp and strong with a not too thick wire. That's about all i use for my flies #4 and under.
