Clouser Minnow

After a week of having a fly rod I decided to arm myself with a dvd and fly tying kit attached is my first attempt at a fly the clouser minnow

I will say lefty kreh in my dvd made it look a lot easier doing a whip finish by hand but im sure ill get there eventually



try not to laugh too hard at the pic :D

Nothing wrong with that one Michael. Some sucker of a fish will fall for it.

Mate that's really good for a first attempt! Should have seen my first clouser, looked like a cross between a fish and a bird that had been run over by a truck and glued back together.

Cheers for the feed back guys I have enjoyed playing around with a few colours in these dunno if they will catch fish but im just enjoing tying them

Generally speaking, you'd aim to put the dark colours on the opposite side of the hook to where you've mounted the eyes. That one looks "upsidedown" because the fly will swim with the dark wing below the light-coloured wing. The weight of the eyes will make the fly swim with the hook point above the shaft.

For all I know, it'll still catch fish though! :)
