Good to see the pilch ( yellow eye mullet ) back in the Swan, They are actually a standard resident and traditionally could be caught over a wide area, but paticularly along the brewery / riverside drive stretch using small baits in particular bloodworms. In recent years they seemed to disapear however, which is why it's good to see them back. They seem to be aggresive enough to take flies quite well , small ( size 6 hook and less ) baitfish patterns seem to work as well as anything, or that is what i've caught them on, on the few ocasions i've targeted them. As for Sea Mullet !! Arrrgh. If anyone can work them out, let me know. There are a few guys around that say they catch them on nymph's hung under a wool indicator, but the hooks are very light, and i have tried it and found that blowies bite the fly of quickly.
