Meeting 1 November 2016
Meeting 1 November 2016
Hi all.
This coming meeting we have our club film festival. A few of our members have put together a couple of films to be shown on the night.
The last field day saw us going down to Albany where we got into mulloway, bream, salmon trout herring and yellowtail. We had reasonable weather conditions and some great captures over the weekend.
November field day is the Blackwood river. There is another event on during the weekend, so if you are interested in attending, it's best to book some accommodation for the weekend.
The club has bought some backing rod (10mm & 20mm) for popper flies. If you are a paid up member for 2016, come along and pick up some for free.

Hi Dale. You really want to pick up a spool each of 20, 30, 40 & 50 lb monofilament leader material. I prefer supple leader material as I feel it gives better turnover. Rio power flex is nice, but it's expensive as it comes on small spools. Instinct supple is a good budget priced leader material. Lots of brands out there. Just depends what is easily accessible to you. You can probably get away without the 50lb if fishing 8wt and under.
Try sticking to one brand so you get some uniformity in terms of diameter of leader material, and stiffness of the material.
We can probably run a leader making session at one of the meetings.

Hi Torren..........heading down Friday. Combining it with a family camping trip and will be staying at the Molloy caravan park. We'll be in the un-powered tent area near the river. Planning on getting out early on Saturday and Sunday mornings.
